What To Expect

What to Expect

Your initial Physiotherapy Appointment will involve a lengthy discussion to try and extract all information which may be relevant to the development of your condition. This will include any relevant medical problems.

You will then receive a thorough examination in an effort to determine which structures and areas of your body are not functioning appropriately.

You will then be given a detailed explanation of your problem and your diagnosis, the treatment required, the probable number of treatments needed and the likelihood of success.

Your Physiotherapist may then utilise a number of techniques as appropriate. These probably will include hands on treatment. You will always be given advice on self-management in order to aid in preventing recurrence of the problem.

What to Wear
It is helpful if you wear comfortable loose fitting clothes. If you are coming with a lower limb or back problems, shorts or trousers that roll up are best.

Length of Session
All clients require an initial in-depth assessment lasting approximately 1 hour but as all conditions are different, sometimes more complex problems will require a longer assessment.

Following initial consultation, you will be advised what is likely to be required for your treatment. This will include whether further sessions are required and what time they will take. The choice will be yours.

Under 16's
We ask that under 16's are accompanied by a parent or guardian.  All our physiotherapists have up to date PVG scheme record.

Confidentiality
Please be assured that we will not discuss or disclose any information about you unless we have your consent to do so.

Cancellations
We ask that if you require to cancel an appointment that you give us as much notice as possible as we can usually offer these spaces to someone else.
